MRS. CAROLINE MUELLER

Mrs. Caroline Mueller, whose maiden name was Thur, was born Jan. 13, 1835 in Hermanshoehe, Germany. Her parents were John Thur and Mary (her maiden name was Ruebrdavz). In 1852 she came to America with her first husband, Mr. John Maves, and lived near Milwaukee for five years. Here her first husband died and she was left with three children.

Later she married to John Drahiam. She came to Jackson Co. Later she married Mr. Fr. Mueller. He died a number of years ago. The number of children from the first and second marriage are three respectively and one from the last marriage. Six of these children are as yet living. Mr. Louis Maves, Mrs. Ida Dupont, Mrs. Lizzie Schlicter, John Drahiam, Mrs. Delia Vanderploeg and Mrs. Mathilda Bequette. One daughter is dead.

Mrs. Mueller died the 27th of Oct. 1919, at her son-in-law's home, Henry Schlichter, after being only but a few days ill. Her death is mourned by six children and sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, besides 37 grandchildren and about 12 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Mary Thur. She reached the age of 84 years 9 months and 14 days. She was buried the 30th of Oct.

She has always been a true and faithful member of the Lutheran church. "For to me to live, is Christ, and to die is to gain.:

Those who attended the funeral from out of town were: Mrs. John Vanderplough of La Crosse, Mr. and Louis Hardtke of Plainview, Minn., Mrs. Maggie Berry of Eau Claire, and Mr. Fred Miller also of Eau Claire.
