BioM: Kanter, Marcella (Marriage - 1928)
Surnames: KANTER CARBERRY ---------Source: COLBY PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 06/21/1928 --------- Kanter, Marcella (Marriage - 19 JUN 1928) A very pretty wedding took place Tuesday morning at nine o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby, when Miss Marcella Kanter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Kanter, became the bride of Mr. Robert Carberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Carberry of Lodi, Wis., Rev. Wm. Daniels officiating. Miss Oliva Kanter, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Floyd Eder. Ione Carberry, sister of the groom, acted as flower girl. The bride wore a beautiful dress of white georgette, trimmed with radium taffeta. The veil was held in place by a pearl and rhinestone bandeau. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and snowballs. The bridesmaid wore a peach georgette dress and a rhinestone head dress and carried a mixed bouquet. The little flower girl wore a dress of white silk pange and carried a basket of mixed flowers. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to Marshfield, where they had their photos taken. They then returned to the home of the bride's parents, which was beautifully decorated in pink and white for the occasion, where a dinner was served to immediate relatives. The out of town guests present were Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Carberry and family of Lodi, Wis. The bride and groom were taken by surprise in the evening when a large crowd of friends and neighbors gather for an old fashioned charivari and shower. The young couple received many beautiful gifts. The young couple left the next morning for a short honeymoon to the Dells and then to Lodi, where they will make their future home after June 25th. |
