BioM: Staffeil, Laura (Marriage - 1929)
Surnames: STAFFEIL SCHMIDT WIERSIG DINS ---------Source: COLBY PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 10/03/1929 --------- Staffeil, Laura (Marriage - 2 OCT 1929) A very pretty wedding took place at the Zion Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 2, 1929, Rev. A. Kirchhoefer reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Laura Staffeil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Staffeil, became the bride of Mr. Gerhard Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Schmidt. Miss Adeline Dins acted as bridesmaid and Miss Alice Staffeil was maid of honor. The groom was attended by Lawrence Damer and Arthur Wiersig. The bride wore a beautiful dress of white satin with lace, embroidered veil and head dress of pearls. Her shower bouquet consisted of pink and white roses. The bridesmaid was attired in a dress of green flat crepe and her bouquet consisted of roses and carnations. The maid of honor's dress was of yellow georgette and her bouquet also consisted of roses and carnations. Hildegard Schmidt, a little niece of the groom, acted as flower girl and wore a dress of white satin and carried a basket of asters. Little Roger Staffeil, brother of the bride, acted as ring bearer and carried the rings on a little white pillow. A wedding reception was given at the home of the bride's parents, the home being nicely decorated in green, yellow and white and autumn leaves for the occasion. In the evening, a free wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft's park, which was largely attended. The newlyweds left on a wedding trip to Milwaukee, Watertown and Madison, and will be at home after Oct. 15th on the groom's farm. Both the bride and groom have many friends in this vicinity with whom we join in extending best wishes for a happily married life. |
