Mrs. John Clark, of Burkbart, of St.Croix county, is here on a visit to Mrs. J. N. Kennery, a relative.

A. F. Hein and wife partook of their Christmas dinner with his parent’s, John Hein’s family.

Cashier Kraus, of the German American Bank at Marshfield, visited our city a few hours last Monday.

Wallace Lacey came over from Augusta Saturday last to visit his lady friend and other acquaintances.

Last Friday Rev. Foster assisted in the dedication of a new M. E> Church at Galesville, his former charge.

John B. Jones went to Duluth Monday for a week’s visit to his brother Ira, a former resident of this city.

Gus. Wesenberg and family went to Citronelle, Alabama, on Tuesday, where they will make their future home.

Mis Grace Nason, of Nasonville, accompanied Miss Frankie Isaacson to her home to Superior yester for a short visit.

Father Volz received word from La Crosse that his father was very sick, and on Tuesday he took the 11:20 train for that place.

Dr. Pitcher went to Iola again last Saturday to receive further treatment for his cancerous throat troubles from a specialist, who is located there and has a very large hospital filled with patients from all parts of the country. The doctor thinks he will receive a permanent cure. Co., of Mauston, wholesale wine merchants, and will endeavor to straighten up the business which was left in such a bad shape by their former agent Richard Hawkes, who was arrested for embezzlement last fall.

Jas. Taylor moved into the Jess Lowe house on Court street last week Thursday and Friday. James stood the country life on the Youmans’ farm near this city as long as he could, and the desire to get back oonto his old street – Lover’s Lane – crept into his heart until he litally yielded to its beatings.

Wm. Oldham has gone up to Medford with his team to work.

J. E. Sturdevant’s horse over reached and tore off a shoe, also a large piece of hoof with it, going to the Christmas tree.

Otto Raether has lost two horses; Helmuth Bloom, one and A. B. Ballon, one.

Miss Addie Braman started Monday for a visit among relatives in Crawford county.

Geo. Schultz has been quite sick but is out again.

Wilber Green was out of camp to the Christmas tree.

S. E. Hutchings got a suit of clothes from the Christmas tree, consisting of a plug of tobacco and a pair of stocking. How he struts now!

WILCOX – I. J. Fulwiler has again accepted a position at Chili and started on his duties Tuesday.

H. Lapp, the Granton butcher, was seen in this vicinity Monday, looking for calves, etc.

Miss Belle Meeks and brother, of Alma Center, visited with relatives the first of the week.

On account of the deep snow path-masters are constantly kept on the road with snow-plows in order to make it passable for teams.

Mrs. Noel Rogers is visiting with her parents at Cadott.

Fred Benedict, of Chili, spent Christmas with his parents.

Mrs. Sam Livingston and her son Willie, who have been dangerously ill the past two weeks, are convalescent. a A. W. Hales had an exciting chase after a large black bear last Monday, but Mr. Bruin proved to be too smart and outwitted him.

Mrs. Wesley Bolton, of Neillsville, visited with her sister, Mrs. Leslie Mack, a few days last week.

Berton Lawrence came home sick on Tuesday of last week. He had been working in camp at Phillips.

Geo. F. Lawrence, who spent about a year and a half in Sheboygan county, returned home Thursday.
