Mrs. E. W. Sawyer of Chili, visited this city Saturday last.

Ethie Kemery went to Granton Monday to take charge of her school.

L. O. Garrison, of Thorp, visited the county seat on business Monday.

Paul Heyder and wife, of Granton, visited friends in this city Monday.

Gus Hosley went to Mercer Friday to start his camps for winter logging.

Tom Kerns, wife and Walter Smith visited La Crosse the first of the week.

Miss Linnie Krumrey of Plymouth, is in the city visiting her uncle Conrad.

Levi and Henry Withee of Minneapolis, were in the city last week to vist their father, H. N. Withee, who is quite ill.

Mrs. Legare Potter arrived in this city Monday. Whether she is going to continue her residence here longer has not been learned.

There will be a chicken pie supper at Mrs. Frank Potter’s home in the town of York, Monday even, Sept 21st. For the benefit of Rev. G. N. Foster.

Mrs. Dr. Lyman of Mondota, arrived in this city Saturday for a visit with former acquaintances. Sibyl Wells who has been visiting there returned home with her.

Manger Hommel has secured the Fountana Laugh-makers Hypnotic Mind Reading company to appear nightly in the opera house for one week, commencing Sept 28th. The newspapers wherever they have appeared have give them great praise and flattering notices, consequently, we should judge that they were a very interesting troupe. Prices 10 and 20cts.
