News: The Clark Republican and Press 7-7-1898
Source: The Clark Republican and Press Date: 7-7-1898 Chas. Cornelius and wife and Miss Mamie Woodward attended the wedding of Miss Ethel Allen and Willard J. Walsh at Loyal last Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Peters of Phillips, were 4th of July guests of Mrs. Peter’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schuster. Mr. Peters is district attorney of Price county. The latest thing out. Enameled steel ware. The only place to find them is at J. D. Stannard’s Fifth Street Grocery. Take a look as it is the housewife’s best friend. Mr. and Mrs. John Marsh, Jr., of Black River Falls, spent several days here with the family of Lute and Will Marsh. On the 4th a family reunion was held in a grove near the city. Mr. and Mrs. Marsh returned home Tuesday. M. P. Hartford writes the Loyal Tribune from Tonsina River, Alaska, in the Copper River country, but does not laud the country very highly. In fact he advises all to be wary and not believe the stories told by the transportation companies and business men along the Sound, of the fabulous riches found there. H. A. Bright spent the 4th in this city while on his way to his farm at Longwood. By the way, that farm seems to keep Mr. Bright pretty busy lately. Eh? Miss Lillian Poff is spending her school vacation with her parents at Carlisle. She arrived Monday of last week from La Crosse where she holds a position as one the teachers in the city schools. Frank Archer has secured a regular run as mail clerk for Uncle Sam, with headquarter at Chicago. WANTED: Woman cook in railroad camp. Good wages. Apply immediately to J. W. Pitts, Neillsville, Wis. |
