News: The Clark Republican and Press 3-16-1899
Source: The Clark Republican and Press Date: 3-16-1899 Miss Elva Huntley is visiting at Loyal. F. J. Sheldon of Longwood, was at the county seat on Monday. It is reported that Mrs. Victor Huntzicker is very sick at their home in Salt Lake City. We noticed H. Leabs one of the substantial farmers of Green Grove, on our streets one day this week. Mrs. Geo. L. Jacques started last week Tuesday for Sioux City, Iowa to attend the funeral of a niece. John Stewart of Greenwood, was about town last week on business and making a few farewell calls. He and his family expect to start for Chehalis, Wash., March 21st, where they will make their future home. Amelia Wiesner came home from Stevens Point Normal on Saturday, returning Monday. Mrs. D. D. Adams gave a tea party Saturday evening. Twenty-six guests were present. We are glad to note that Harve Rickard is able to walk about and will soon be himself again. Miss Fannie Dignin, Mrs. L.A. Grow and Miss Belle Barton have gone to Chicago to lay in their new spring stock of millinery goods. Carter Warring has sold his steam laundry to R. F. Ploof and H. W. Kirby. Mr. Ploof has been working for Carter for several months. Mr. Kirby comes here from Humbird. Both men we understand are competent laundry men and the plant will be run in first-class shape. Carter expects to remain in the city at least for a time. Drs. Esch, Conroy and Lacey operated upon Erues Kihn for appendicitis Tuesday forenoon. At this writing the patient is doing well, and it is expected that the operation will be entirely successful. Mr. Kihn has had repeated and severe attacks from this disease, and it is hoped that he has received permanent relief. |
