The Misses Anna and Callie Johnson have returned from a ten days visit with relatives in Chicago.

C. C. Snireman and W. W. Klopf have been in St. Paul this week, on matters of business.

Miss Blanche Ring arrived home from Menominie yesterday morning to remain for a visit during the Fair.

Mrs. Barlow and Miss Emma Hendren, of Greenwood, have been guests, during the fair of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McMillan.

William Tufts, Jr., postmaster at Withee, is visiting his father, Sheriff Tufts and incidentally taking in sights at the Fair.

W. A. Marr, the Merrillan confectioner, is dispensing liquid refreshments, candies and sweetmeats at the Fair grounds this week.

Miss Bessie Lindsay, private secretary for the N. C. Foster Lumber Co., at Greenwood, is visiting friends in the city.

Mrs. T. B. Churchill returned to her home in Greenwood, Saturday, after a few days visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Dangers.

J. H. D. Painter, traveling freight agent of the Omaha Railway, was in the city yesterday, on company business.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Eilert were among the numerous Neillsville visitors at the State Fair in Milwaukee last week. They returned home Sunday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Tompkins, and Mr. and Mrs. David Maxwell left Tuesday for St. Paul to attend the funeral services of a brother of Mr. Maxwell who died, Monday, at Spooner, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton A. Smith and son, of Chicago, are here on a visit to their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Smith. Mr. Smith is an employee of the Railway Mail service in the office of superintendent at Chicago.

Mrs. Wm. Huntley and Mrs. T. D. Condit will entertain the Ladies League with a Chicken Pie supper at the church parlors next Thursday, Sept. 28th, at six o’clock. Everybody is cordially invited to come.

Will Campman is anxious concerning the whereabouts of his bicycle, which was taken from in front of Dickinson’s store about ten o’clock yesterday forenoon. Walter Redmond reports having seen a stranger riding the wheel and describes him an smooth faced, a medium sized and fairly well dressed man. As yet no trace of the wheel or the culprit has been found.
