Agnes Bargander

Agnes T. Bargander, 95, Loyal, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at the Marshfield Center. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 7, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jody Rueth, Jack Rueth, James Rueth, Robert Rueth, Charles Rueth, and David Gleichsner.

Agnes Theresa Suda was born on Sept. 10, 1907, in Richland County, to Joseph and Antonia (nee Parizek) Suda. At the age of 9, she moved with her parents to Muscoda, and later the same year, her parents purchased a farm in the Town of Beaver. She attended Anderson School in Grant County, and graduated from eighth grade while attending Latart School. She married Leo Rueth on June 29, 1924, in Greenwood. She was a homemaker, and for several years, provided meals as the head cook for various area restaurants. Her husband died on May 1, 1968. She later married Andrew Bargander on April 17, 1972. He died on Sept. 30, 1993. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Her interests included gardening, quilting, and crocheting.

Survivors include three sons, Bernard "Bun" Rueth, Loyal, Herbert (Kathleen) Rueth, Parma, Idaho, and Edward (Florence) Rueth, Loyal; one daughter, Jayne (LaVern) Kolbeck, Marshfield; 36 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Mary Ann Gleichsner; three sons, Patrick, and twins, John and Joseph, shortly after birth; four brothers, Anthony Suda, Joseph Suda, Vandy Suda, and Louie Suda; and one sister, Madeline Perko.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
