Wednesday, November 19, 2003 edition of the Clark County Press Myrtle C. Commers Myrtle Commers, age 93, of Neillsville, died Monday, Nov. 17, at the Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville. Myrtle Charlotte Commers was born on April 15, 1910 in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Paul Lewis and Anna Marie Krueger. She was united in marriage to George Commers on October 16, 1940 in Minneapolis. In 1953, they had a baby girl, Dorothy. When Dorothy was only 15 months old, George died on January 15, 1955. Myrtle had worked there prior to Dorothy's birth, but then retired to care for her daughter. She worked for Superior Dairy Fresh for nearly 30 years before retiring at the age of 62. After retirement, Myrtle would visit her family in Neillsville quite frequently. She moved here permanently five years ago and lived with her daughter. At the age of 90, she moved into the Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville. Myrtle was a very loving and dedicated mother. She always put her family first and never complained about the sacrifices she made in caring for others. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Commers, of Neillsville; one grandson, Paul Commers of Neillsville; two sisters, Lucille Wood of Bloomington, Minn., and Dorothy Catron of Bothel, Wash. Myrtle is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George; and a sister, Marie Anderson. Funeral services for Myrtle will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Morris-Nielson Funeral Home in Richfield, Minn., with a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Minneapolis. The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Myrtle's family with arrangements.
