Source: The Clark Republican and Press Date: 11-30-1899 Messrs. McCoy and Calway, of Neillsville, formerly newspaper men, were in town Thursday, introducing a patent sack-holder – Clark Co. Chronicle More land seekers continue to come. Last Saturday and Sunday four of Webster’s livery teams were out, all with big loads of men from the south part of this state or northern Illinois. J. H. Savage, of Prairie du Chien, agent of the Starr-Davis Lumber Co., and John P. Kintzele, the local agent of said company, of the town of York, transacted business at the court house Tuesday. W. F. Woodward received a letter this week from P. B. Tolford of San Francisco, in which, among other things, he describes the doings there in army circles. He also sends regards to old friends here. Bert Webster, one of Neillsville’s popular young men, was in town Tuesday on his way up the Wisconsin Central line to report a number of Clark county towns for Bradstreet – Marshfield Times Robert Glass got a snapshot (with his Kodak) at a deer last Sunday as he was going along the road near William Lapp’s farm by the mound. The animal stopped long enough to get her picture taken and went on. |
