John Dahlberg from Curtis was in the city Wednesday.

Mayor Huntley and wife returned Friday from a trip to New York state.

Mrs. J. E. Tifft went to Chicago Friday for a few weeks’ visit with friends.

Legare Potter is working with the Jas. L. Gates Land Co., in showing lands to settlers.

J. D. Butler of Streator, Ill., late proprietor of the O’Neill House, was in the city this week.

Mrs. A. Gress will entertain her Sunday School class of girls with a strawberry social this week.

Oscar Schoengarth arrived home last week from the Wisconsin university to spend his vacation.

Miss Jessie Romaine, of Loyal, was the guest of Miss Jennie Alexander several days last week.

Mrs. L. Weeks placed a beautiful bouquet of her superb roses on our desk yesterday. They are beauties.

Several tramps lounging along the railroad track Monday night were “moved on” by Marshal Hommel.

A. E. Dudley is retouching the Frnech building with that brush of his that makes things look as good as new.

Maj. Hommel and Adj. H. W. Klopf went to Wausau Tuesday for battalion inspection of the military company.

Miss Julie Servaty returned Saturday morning from Oshkosh Normal. She expects to return next year and will complete the full four-year’s course before the end year if she can stand the work as well as she has thus far.

Miss Grace Dickinson fell and sprained her ankle quite severely Wednesday at the camping grounds down on Black River.
