Miss Maggie Huges returned last week from South Dakota. She expects to go to Stevens Point soon to take a course in the business college there.

On a recent trip to Chicago Thos. Lowe secured a slicing machine for cutting dried beef, etc., that is greatest thing of the kind out. It rolls the meat of in shavings of any desired thickness.

Robert and Ira Galbreath, of Shortville, were in the city Monday with a load of thirty-five coon skins and several deer hides, which brought them quite a neat sum of money. They are the owner of the champion coon dog in this part of the state.

H. B. J. Andrus expects to operate his creamery all winter. The receipts of milk continue good so ar, and patrons appear anxious to continue delivery. The butter has commanded the top of the market all the season, giving the best of returns to all concerned.

Walter Beach of the town of York is sick with the typhoid fever at the county poor farm.

Ed. Higgins and Jas. Paulus returned Friday from Milwaukee where they had been called by the severe illness of John Paulus.

John Paulus returned from Milwaukee Wednesday accompanied by Mrs. Paulus. He is slowly recovering.
