BRUCHERT-VEURINK EXHANGE VOWS

May 18, at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon, Miss Mae Veurink, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Veurink, Withee, approached the altar of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Withee, to become the bride of Norbert Bruchert, son of Mrs. Fred Bruchert, Withee.

Miss Erna Rose, Withee, sand "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer" with Lorraine Cizik playing the accompaniment. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Walter Schedler before the altar decorated with vases of snapdragons, tulips, lilies, and ferns.

To the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march by Wagner, the bride entered the church with her father. She wore a gown of fine white net. The sweetheart neckline brought out an off shoulder effect, with ruffles on the shoulders. The snug basque buttoned to the waist in back and the long sleeves came to points over the wrists. The front of the double net over satin skirt made a triangle ruffle effect, which extended into a train, edged with a white ruffle.

The bride completed her attire with a finger-tip veil of illusion, imported from the Aluetian Islands, which was caught to a seed-pearl headdress. Her jewelry consisted of a string of pearls and a gold wrist watch. She carried a bouquet of delicate white and pink carnations tied with white satin ribbon. Orange blossoms were scattered through the bouquet.

Miss Beverly Pyatt, cousin of the bride, as maid of honor, wore a pink net over taffeta gown with fitted bodice and net overskirt. She wore a pink floral headdress and had a corsage of pink sweetheart rosebuds and a yellow and pink carnation, tied with pink satin ribbon.

Serving as bridesmaid was Mrs. Joe Zudonyi of Withee, who wore a gown of blue taffeta with net sleeves and net overskirt. Her floral headdress matched her gown. The corsage consisted of yellow sweetheart rosebuds and white carnations, tied with yellow satin ribbon. The jewelry worn were single strands of pearls.

The groom wore a dark brown suit with a carnation boutonniere. Leon Bruchert, brother of the groom, wore a dark teal green suit, and the bridegroom's other attendant, Mr. Joe Zudonyi, had an oxford grey suit. The attendants had white carnation boutonnieres.

Mrs. Vurink attended her daughter's wedding in a suit of powder blue with matching accessories, and Mrs. Bruchert, the mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a soldier dress with matching accessories.

At the home of the bride's parents, a reception was held for 60 guests at 6 p. m.

The bride is a graduate of Withee high school and attended the Walla Walla Business College at Walla Walla, Washington. She was employed at the Franklin Co. Courthouse, Pasco, Washington.

The bridegroom, who was recently discharged after 36 months in the Army Engineers, was graduated from the Withee high school. He served 26 months in the European Theater of Operations. Mr. Bruchert is now employed at the Blue Moon Food Products Company of Owen. Mr. and Mrs. Bruchert will make their home at the bride's parents for the present time.
