Harold Kalepp, Sr.

Harold C. Kalepp, Sr., 90, Abbotsford, died Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker officiated. Burial was in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Kim Kalepp, Kevin Kalepp, Kyle Kalepp, Kirk Kalepp, Jay Kalepp, Tim Kalepp, Daniel Kalepp, and Mike Myre.

Harold Curtis Kalepp was born Feb. 21, 1913, in rural Dorchester to Adolph and Minnie (nee sauter) Kalepp. He married Lucille Bunnell in 1933. In 1947, he and his brother, Clarence, owned and operated a sorting and implement business in Abbotsford. After his retirement, he continued to support his sons and grandson in business. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Harold (Norman) Kalepp, Jr. and DuWayne (Suzanne) Kalepp, both of Abbotsford; one daughter, Jane (Bill) Harder, Wausau; one sister, Alice (Gilbert) Kattre, Abbotsford; 10 grandchildren, Kim Kalepp, Kevin Kalepp, Kyle Kalepp, Kirk Kalepp, Jay Kalepp, Tim Kalepp, Daniel Kalepp, Jackie Myre, Mike Myre, and Deena Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Lucille, on May 10, 1988; one son, Gerald Kalepp, in August, 1990; one grandson, Keith; four brothers, Clarence, Norman, William, and Gordon Kalepp; and two sisters, Gladys and Dorothy.

A memorial will be designated in his name at a later date.

Maurina Funeral Home, Abotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
