Obit: Krueger Family Deaths (7-Feb-1943)
FUNERAL HELD FOR ACCIDENT VICTIMS (By News-Herald Correspondent) Curtiss--Funeral service for Mr. and Mrs. Otto Krueger, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Krueger, who were killed Feb. 7, 1943, in an auto-train accident at the Atwood railroad crossing, were held Thursday afternoon at First Evangelical Reformed Church, Colby, the Rev. David Grether officiating. Because the church was too small to accommodate the crowd, loudspeakers were installed in the church basement and parish hall. Members of the Reformed and Evangelical Ladies Aid Society of Curtiss had charge of the many floral offerings, and four bearers carried the bodies to Pine Hill cemetery in Curtiss, where interment took place. Among those from out of tow at the funeral were Mrs. Nels Gramholm, Chicago; Mrs. Lena Geiger and Mrs. Louise Cole, Milwaukee; Ernest Baumgarten, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Weller, Tigerton; Mrs. Arthur Tinker, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Straude, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Miller, Oshkosh. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Strade, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Strade, Kiel; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Preonne, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peronne, and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Peronne, Howards Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Prepeter, Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Witte, Kiel; Mr. and Mrs. Adam Sandar and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Winkle, Clevelan, Wis.; Corp. Elroy Krueger, Fort Kiley, Kan. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Drake and sons, Richard and Helmuth, Kiel; Mrs. Thomas Dowty, Mrs. Norman Kind, and Rueben Kobs, Waukesha; MR. and Mrs. Roy Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Reiber, Owen; and Mr. and Mrs. James Syth, Mr. and Mrs. Art Syth, Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Syth, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Syth, Ronald Syth, and Mr. and Mrs. John Syth, all of Greenwood.
