--------- Flinn, Clara A. (9 JUL 1850 - 8 MAR 1915)

Mrs. Clara A. Flinn died at the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. H. N. Briggs, at 5:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, March 8, 1915, aged 65 years, 7 months and 29 days. Heart weakness was the cause of her death. Funeral services were held in the F. M. Church Wednesday forenoon conducted by Rev. G. L. Pound, and were attended by a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains were taken to Augusta on the one o'clock train for interment in the cemetery at that city.

Miss Clara A. Nokes was born in the state of New York July 9, 1850, and came west with her parents in her early girlhood. In 1867 she was united in marriage to Mr. W. P. Green in Jefferson Co., Wis. On Aug. 17, 1873, she was married to Mr. James Nevill, and for thirteen years they made their home at Cedar Falls, moving from there to Augusta, where Mr. Nevill died June 20, 1904. Two years later she became the wife of Mr. Matt Flinn, and went to live at his home in the town of Alma. Mrs. Flinn's life was a quiet and unassuming one; always ready to help in time of sickness or need. She was a faithful mother and a kind friend. There are mourning her death, here husband, one son, Mr. Fletcher D. Green, one step-daughter, Mrs. H. N. Briggs; two sisters, Mrs. Welch of Montana, and Mrs. John Putman of this place, and one brother, Mr. Wm. Nokes of Winchester, Wis., besides a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
