Viola E. Phillips

Viola E. Phillips, age 93, of Plymouth, passed away late Tuesday evening, Jan. 6, at the Vslley Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth, where she had been a resident for teh past 30 years.

Viola was born on May 9, 1909 in the Township of Levis, in Clark County, the daughter of the late William and Flora (Demmer) Rath.

She attended Neillsville area grade shcools. On Dec. 29, 1931, she married Levit Phillips in Neillsville. The couple resided in the Spokeville / Granton area.

Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1976.

She was a Home Care Aid throughout her life. She enjoyed every moment she had with people and mostly showing her love to her children and grandchildren. She was a former member of the Unity Church in Sheboygan.

She is survived by tow sons, Edward Phillips of Sheboygan and Elwood Phillips of Abbotsford; seven grandchildren, Kirk Phillips of Plymouth, Verona (Jeff) Lampe of Sheboygan, Tammy (Roland) Buchanan of Sheboygan, David (Rhonda) Phillips of Kewaskum, Betsy Wine of Sheboygan, and Timothy (Bonnie) Phillips of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kevin, and Kaytlin Phillips of Sheboygan, Nic, Ben, and Schuyler James Buchanan of Sheboygan, Jeremy and Michelle Phillips of Kewaskum, Patti, Jake, and Justin Wine of Sheboygan, Edward Lincoln Phillips of Hermosa Beach, Calif. She is also survived by many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Edward Lewis Phillips, Jr.; one brother, Carl; and two sisters, Margaret and Frieda.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Thomas Burton, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth officiated. Burial was in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

The Suchon Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

A memorial fund is being established in her name.
