--------- Crump, Gladys (Marriage - 7 JUL 1915)

(From Lake Mills Leader)

The culmination of a pretty college romance occurred on Wednesday morning, July 7, 1915, at eleven o'clock, when Miss Gladys Crump of this city, was united in marriage to Mr. Dudley O. Fowler of Appleton, Wis., at the home of the bride's father, Mr. W. O. Crump. The impressive double ring ceremony was read by Rev. L. C. Partch of the Congregational Church, in the presence of the immediate relatives and a few friends of the bride and groom.

The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Cecelia Hague, as bridesmaid, and Mr. C. B. Scott of Wausau, a fraternity brother of the groom, acted as best man. The wedding march was played by Miss Josephine Peck of Chicago, a sorority sister of Miss Crump, as the members of the bridal party took their places under a bower of water lilies and ferns.

The bride was very becomingly gowned in white lace over chiffon, and carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid was prettily attired in blue Voile and net and carried a bouquet of white carnations.

After the wedding dinner was served, Mr. and Mrs. Fowler left on the two o'clock train for Waupaca Lakes, where they will camp for one week, after which they will go to Appleton, where they will make their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Fowler were the recipients of many beautiful gifts from their relatives and friends.

The bride, who is an exceptionally pretty and attractive young lady, has made her home in Lake Mills during the greater part of her life and has endeared herself to all who know her by her sweet disposition and winning manner. After graduating from out high school, she attended Lawrence College for two years, where she was a member of the Theta Gamma Delta Sorority. Since that time she has made a pleasant home here for her widowed father and younger brother, by whom she will be greatly missed.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Fowler of Humbird, Clark County, Wis. He is a graduate of Lawrence College. During his college life he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and was prominent in all college activities. He is a young man of splendid character and commands the respect and esteem of all who know him. At present he is in business in Appleton in the employ of the well known firm of Woolworth and Co.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Fowler, Miss Alice Fowler, Miss Nellie Raether, Humbird; Mr. Will Fowler, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. George Bunker and daughter, Donald Crump, Waukesha; Misses Josephine Peck and Mabel Kenney of Chicago; Mr. C. B. Scott of Wausau; Mrs. Willard Hartman of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Charles Behnke and son of Oshkosh.
