Mrs. John Michael died at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire about eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, after a several weeks illness with kidney trouble. She was taken to the hospital Sunday evening for further treatments in anticipation that the frail hopes for her recovery might be sustained, and where better care could be given in her last hours on earth. The remains were brought to this village (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.) Wednesday, and taken to her home on the farm. The funeral services are to be held at the Reformed Church this Friday afternoon, and burial will be in the Mentor Cemetery. The sorrowing husband and family have the sincerest sympathy of all in the loss they have been called upon to bear in the death of the wife and mother.

Gertie Bertha Repplinger was born at Keokuk, Iowa, March 5, 1874. The family moved soon after to Hamilton, Ill., where she grew to womanhood, and on Feb. 12, 1895, she was united in marriage with Mr. John Michael of that place. Three years later they came to Humbird, in the spring of 1898, and the farm adjoining the village has since been their home. Death came to Mrs. Michael after a long period of illness, on June 11, 1918, at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. There mourn her death, her husband and five children, three sons, Oswald, George and John, and two daughters, Gladys and Alice. She is survived also by an aged father and three brothers, whose homes are in Illinois, and two sisters in Keokuk, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church on Friday afternoon with sermon by the pastor, Rev. D. Grether, and were attended by a large congregation of sympathizing friends. The Royal Neighbors camp, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body. Many beautiful floral tributes were placed on the casket and about the altar. Burial was in the Mentor Cemetery. In respect for the deceased, the business place in the village were closed during the hour of the services. Relatives from away to attend the funeral were her father and a brother from Illinois, and also Mr. Michael's mother from Illinois.
