--------- Dignin, Bertha (25 JUN 1890 - 31 DEC 1918)

The funeral of Mrs. James Dignin, whose death was briefly noted in these columns last week, was held at Alma Center last Sunday afternoon, Rev. Upson officiating. Burial was in the Alma Center Cemetery.

Mrs. Dignin, nee Bertha Peterson, died in a hospital in Milwaukee, Dec 31, 1918, of double pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks duration. She was born in the town of Cleveland, Jackson Co., Wis., June 25, 1890, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hogan Peterson, and was one of a family of eleven children. On June 9, 1913, she was united in marriage with Mr. James Dignin, and their home was made in this vicinity (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.) the greater part of the time since. During the summer her husband enlisted in the navy and was assigned to the training station at Great Lakes. Mrs. Dignin soon after sought employment in Milwaukee, where her death occurred. Mr. Dignin, who was enlisted as a machinist in the radio division received his discharge from the navy but two days before her death.

She is survived by her husband, her parents, six brothers, and four sisters, residing in the town of Cleveland.
