Obit: Esther Brown 1956
Death came suddenly to Mrs. Esther Brown last wed. evening at her home on Garfield Street at the age of 75. Funeral services were held for her on Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church, the Rev. Cecil Ward officiating. The remians were interred in Oakland cemetery. Pall-bearers were Harry and Oscar Boie, Emil Seefeldt, Charles Henkins, Gayle Bivans, and Walter Bratz. Born Esther I. Walter in Riceville, Iowa, on Dec. 25, she grew to young womanhood there. In 1906 she married Herman Brown there and they made their home in Iowa until 1907 when they moved to Stanley. In 1910 they moved to their farm in the Town of Worden where they resided until Mr. Brown passed away in 1931. Since that time, she has been a resident of Stanley. Those who are left to mourn are six children: three sons, Harry of Laurel, Montana, Ray of Grafton, WI and Kenneth of Wausau, WI and three daughters, Mrs. Reid (Lila) Gibbs of Chippewa Falls, WI, Mrs. Joe (Fay) Czubin of Mukwanago, WI. and Mrs. Leo (Norma) Greene of South Bend, Wa. There are also 23 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one brother Ray Walter of Livingston, MO surviving. Those out of town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Reid Gibbs and Howard and Jeanette of Chippewa Falls, Mr and Mrs Joseph Czubin and Joan of Mukwanago, Clyde Czubin of Milwaukee, Ray Brown of Grafton, Mr and Mrs Raymond Brown, Mrs. Tillie Brown and Patsy and Lyle Dean of Cedarburg, Mr and Mrs. Harry Brown and Norma Jean and Diane of Laurel, Mo. Mr and Mrs Gaylord Walter of Cedar Rapids, Ia. Mrs Joe Walzak and Mrs Rose Czubin of Minneapolis, and Mr and Mrs Lloyd Gibbs and children of Thorp. |
