--------- Bjerke, Luella M. (20 AUG 1949)

Pink and white gladiolas were at the altar of the Immaculate Conception Church when Miss Luella Mae Bjerke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Bjerke, 1913 Emery St., Eau Claire, became the bride of John J. Jarocki, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jarocki, of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The Rev. Daniel O’Reilly read the double ring ceremony at a nuptial high mass at 9 a.m. on Saturday , Aug. 20, 1949. Her father gave the bride in marriage.

Imported Chantilly lace, trimmed the yoke and the waistline of the bride’s gown of white marquisette over slipper satin. The full skirt extended into a train. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was fastened to a tiara of orange blossoms, California pink delight roses made her cascade bouquet.

The bride asked her cousin, Bernadette Christenson of Eau Claire, to be her maid of honor. Miss Patricia Proulx, Austin, Minn., and Miss Beatrice Wenzel of Eau Claire, served as bridesmaids. Acting as flower girl was Miss Carolyn Kranig, the bride’s cousin from Chippewa Falls.

The maid of honor was dressed in pastel blue marquisette over taffeta and carried a cascade bouquet of gold and white mums. Her picture hat and mitts matched her gown. In identical costumes of yellow and orchid, the bridal aides held cascade bouquets of yellow and orchid mums. The flower girl, gowned in green marquisette over taffeta, carried a miniature of the bridal bouquet.

Attending the bridegroom were his brother, Benedict Jarocki, as best man, and Willis Meyer, cousin of the bride from Fall Creek, and Albert Schindler of Eau Claire, Paul Kowieski, Jr., the bridegroom’s cousin from Thorp, was the ring bearers. Clement Falch, cousin of the bride from Cadott and Marion Igras, Eau Claire, were the ushers.

Mrs. Bjerke wore a brown print sheer to attend her daughter’s wedding. Her accessories were born and her corsage was made of talisman roses. The mother of the bridegroom wore a gray crepe dress with black accessories. Pink roses made her corsage. A wedding breakfast was served to immediate relatives of the bride and groom in the Holiday room of the Hotel Eau Claire.

At the reception, which was held at the Holiday room of the Hotel Eau Claire, Mrs. Janet Wilson and Alice Larson poured and Mrs. Carolyn Olson, Mrs. Mabel Stanton and Miss Betty Dahlby assisted.

After the reception, the couple left on their wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, Canada, Minnesota and the Dakotas. The bride wore a fawn crepe dress with brown accessories for traveling. Mums made her corsage.

Mr. and Mrs. Jarocki are making their home in Eau Claire, where the bride is employed at Hobbs Supply Co. and the bridegroom is in the advertising department of the Eau Claire Press Co.
