The hostess served a buffet dinner from 1 to 4 P.M. at the Marden home. The honored couple received many congratulatory messages and gifts including a purse of money. Pictures of the group were taken during the afternoon Mr. Marden, a jeweler for half a century, was born in Lloyd March 22, 1875. Mrs. Marden, the former Daisy Hale, was born July 21, 1880 at Lime Ridge, Sauk County. He came to Clark county when he was five and she has been a resident here since the age of 11. Their marriage took place in Hewitville Sept. 5, 1895. The Mardens resided in Neillsville before coming to Greenwood 40 years ago. Their two children, both deceased were Mrs. George (Vivian) Clow and Kenneth Marden. Grandchildren of the Mardens are Mrs. Jack (Betty) Lou (Marden) Krueger, Kenneth Marden Jr. and Mrs. John (Billie Jean Clow) Howard. There also are a number of great-grandchildren. Out-of-town guests at Sunday's festivities included Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Colwell, Tomah; Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Wood and son, Junior, and daughter Beverly, and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Wood and children, Mary Lou, Vicki and Harvey, Camp McCoy; Mr. and Mrs. John Howard and son, Stanley, Weyauwega; Mrs. Inez Patsy and Clement and George Slink, Hatfield; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wood, Merillian; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Larson, Neillsville; Mrs. Lige Nieman, Mrs. Gertie Boyer and Mrs. Margaret Shupe, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Krueger and children, Pricilla, Kathy and Steve, Mrs. Peter Lydiksen, Mrs. Bertha Pickruhn, Frank McVern and Miss Ruth Mueller, Loyal; and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rossman, Withee. Friends from Greenwood in attendance were the Rev. Ethyle Nulton, Mrs. Edwin Schroeder, and daughter, Mrs. E.A. Elmer, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Finkle, Mrs. A. Rogillio, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso, Mrs. Hattie Shanks, Mrs. Eva Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Speich and daughter, Violet, Mrs. Mathilda Fahey, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Scherr, Mrs. Pearl Syth and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McConnell.
