Several new wheels are seen on our streets, among which are those of Bert Wise, Willie Hern, and Charlie and Anna Hart. Miss Emerence Walters, county superintendent, held teacher's examination here last week. R. Rogers and Eve Bolton visited here a part of last week. Rev. Furgeson left for Augusta, Friday. Mrs. S. Wise, who has been visiting at Chicago, returned home Saturday. Bert Stallard of Altoona, visited friends in town Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. T. H. Barber of Wilthee, and H. Ormsby of Alma Center, were callers in town Friday. Fred Melchoir went with a crew of men to Clear Creek last week to work on the railroad. Two marriage licenses were granted to people in this vicinity last week. Guess who they are. Dr. Moore of Merrillan, was a caller in town Saturday. Two cows owned by Fred Theiler died last week. Miss Helwig of Alma attended the examination here last week. Frank Stallard has bought the Travis building, formerly used as a furniture store, and is moving it on to some lots south of town. The Adventists held meetings in their church several evenings of last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Bryner have a new daughter since April 21st. The pupils of the high school had a holiday Friday on account of teacher's examination. Charlie Crobar's little son died Saturday night. A little two year old child of Will Gregory fell out of the window of a two story building Friday afternoon, but was not hurt seriously. Making gardens is the order of the day. Health lies in labor, which has no royal road but through toil. Jay Miller and family of Fairchild, moved in their house here Thursday. N. Rice and wife of Eau Claire, are visiting with friends here. Jay Webster of B. R. Falls, was seen on our streets Saturday.
