News: Eidsvold (4 May 1900)
Surnames: Larkins, McCutcheon, Stone, Jerard, Cadwill, Thompson, Timelin, Cusick, Hall, Skaugstadt, Banderob, Miller, Peterson, Jordan, McCafferty Source: Greenwood Gleaner (Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.) 4 May 1900 Eidsvold Mr. Larkins of Millston, was a recent caller at this place. W. R. McCutcheon has purchased C. F. Stone's farm near here. Mrs. H. A. Jerard has invested in an Empire (Milkado) cream separator. Wm Jerard has rented the Brandon farm to Jas. Cadwill for the ensuing year. Peter Thompson had a logging bee last Wednesday, at which the timber on several acres of ground was piled up ready for burning. James Timelin is adding an upper story to his house, and will build an addition 14x16 ft. in size. The Wheelmen's Rest, a small store on the south side, which was closed during the winter, has resumed business for the summer. Some sneak thief broke into the Roger's creek school house one night recently and carried off the clock. Various other depredations have been committed about the school premises of late. We are informed that J. W. Cusick and wife have dissolved partnership, each taking a share of the property. Also that "Jack" started for Kilbourn Friday. W. E. Hall is spending several weeks at his farm in Worden, fencing and otherwise improving the same. Mrs. Lizzie Banderob is reported at being very ill at the home of her parents, H. Skaugstadt and wife. John Miller, Jr., is putting up a comfortable dwelling on his farm east of the river. Mike McCafferty, James Jordan and Solon Peterson were at Neillsville last week, as witnesses in a lawsuit.
