Heisler, Margaret (3 May 1850 – 20 Feb. 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Heisler, 93, who died Sunday evening, will be held Friday morning at 9:00 o’clock in St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The Rev. Francis Brockman will sing the requiem high mass and internment will be made in the Marshfield cemetery.

The body lay in state at the Zink Funeral Home until Wednesday afternoon when it was taken to the Heisler home. In the evening, members of the Catholic Ladies’ Altar society, of which organization Mrs. Heisler was an active member until recently, held a rosary service there. Another one is being held this evening.

Mrs. Heisler was born Margaret Michels, in Germany, May 3, 1850. She came to America when she was only a year old. For 35 years she was a resident of Marshfield from where she moved to Abbotsford and lived here almost 25 years.

After the death of her husband, Louis Heisler, she continued to make her home in Abbotsford. For the past six and one-half years she has lived with the Frank Wiese family until her death.

Mrs. Heisler has been in good health until the past winter. About ten days ago she suffered a slight stroke and she appeared to be recovering from that and improving. Complications of age caused her death, Sunday evening at 5:00 o’clock.

She is survived by two brothers, John Michels, of Bredkenridge, Minn.; Peter Michels, of Minneapolis, and one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Sheribel, of Stratford, all of whom are expected for the funeral. There were no children but Mrs. Heisler opened her home to a child and raised and educated her. She is now Sr. Sedentia, of New York.

Preceding her in death were her three husbands: Anton Muelenbach, Phillip Merten and Louis Heisler.

One sister, Mrs. Mary Hinkel, and two brothers, Lambert and Paul, also died.
