BioM: Vanderhyden, Mayme (Marriage - 1917)
Surnames: VANDERHYDEN SPITZENBERGER ZITSKE ---------Source: COLBY PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 10/18/1917 --------- Vanderhyden, Mayme (Marriage - 10 OCT 1917) St. Mary's Catholic Church in this city (Colby, Wis.) was the scene of a simple, though pretty wedding, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 1917, at 8 o'clock a.m., when Rev. Lachnit read a nuptial mass that blended the lives of Mayme Vanderhyden of the town of Hull, Marathon Co., and Herman Spitzenberger, Jr., of Chippewa Falls, in the bonds of matrimony. The bride was handsomely attired in white silk crepe de chine with trimming of slivered white silk net lace and insertion. Her bridal veil was held by bride's roses and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses. Miss Clara Zitske of Wittenberg, a sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a gown of white silk net over pink silk taffeta, and carried pink roses. Wilfred Vanderhyden of Thorp, Clark County, Wis., acted as best man. After the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the home of the bride's mother, where a bounteous wedding breakfast was served to relatives and immediate friends, covers being laid for twenty. The bride is a popular young lady, highly respected by all her friends. The groom, who has a dignified bearing, holds a responsible position in the Marowally cigar factory at Chippewa Falls. The bride was the recipient of handsome presents in silver, aluminum and fine table linen. At eleven o'clock, amid showers of rice, the happy couple departed for Colby and took the noon train for a trip to Milwaukee and Chicago. On their return they will visit relatives in Appleton, Hortonville and New London. They have the best wishes of the Phonograph and all their friends for a happy journey through life. |
