Surnames: LORFEL SCHMIDT ---------Source: COLBY PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 06/27/1918 --------- Lorfel, Martha (Marriage - 25 JUN 1918) A modest marriage service read by Rev. A. L. Scherry at the parsonage of the Reformed Church at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening united the lives and fortunes of Martha, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lorfeld, and Alvin W. Schmidt, both well known residents of this city (Colby, Wis.) and vicinity. The ceremony was witnessed by only immediate relatives of the contracting parties. The happy pair was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schmidt, the former being a brother of the groom. Following the ceremony a wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's parents. Immediately after supper Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt left in their automobile for an extended wedding trip to Chilton, New Holstein and other Wisconsin points. They will be at home at the farm of the groom four miles northeast of Colby after Aug. 1st. |
