OLE SAMULSON, of section 6, Thorp Township, Clark County, was born in the parish of Fodalen, Central Norway, June 23, 1860, the son of Samuel Olson, a native of the same place, who now resides with his son, Ole. The latter came to the United States in the fall of 1880, stopping first in Menomonie, Wisconsin, where he worked in the sawmills and pineries for seven months in the spring of 1881 he went to Wilson, St. Croix County, and worked in the mills and woods until the fall of 1882 he next went to Baldwin, same county, where he engaged as a clerk one year and in the fall of 1884 came to this county and bought forty acres where he now lives. He has since added forty acres more, and has since cleared over half of the whole tract. He began life a poor boy, but now owns a fine farm without debt, where he has made many improvements. He is a member of the Town Board, and has also served as Clerk of the school district. Religiously he is a member of the Lutheran Church, and politically a Republican.
