JOHN DUDEI, who is successfully engaged in agricultural pursuits, on a farm of 120 acres, in Section 25, Seif Township, is a native of Germany, born June 9,1862, son of August and Dora (Workoff) Dudei. The parents died in their native land. They had five children: John, subject of this sketch August, a farmer of Seif Township Annie, wife of Albert Hemp, of this township Benjamin and Bruno, who are farmers in Iranton, Wis. John Dudei came to Clark County from Germany in 1888, and in 1893 bought his present farm, which was partly improved, though it was largely covered with timber the most of which he has since cleared. He is milking from twelve to fifteen cows and raises corn, oats and barley. He is a Democrat in politics and has been elected to the township board several times. In religion he is a German Lutheran. Mr. Dudei was married in Germany, Feb. 14, 1885, to Caroline White, daughter of Gotlieb and Rosa (Knautz) White. Her parents, who never came to America, are now deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Dudei have seven children, who were born as follows: Augusta, Sept. 23, 1886 Anna, Sept. 11, 1888 Laira, Nov. 15, 1890 Ida, May 30, 1894 Alma, Nov. 21, 1896 Hulda, Nov. 8, 1899, and Elsie, Jan 12, 1903. |
