MILLER MUELLER REINIKING RANEKING

History of Clark County, Wisconsin (1918).

ALBERT MILLER, who is profitably engaged in dairying and other branches of farming in Section 16, Eaton Township, was born in Washington County, Wis., March,4, 1877, son of Peter and Elizabeth Miller. The father was a harnessmaker and farmer, and he and his wife had eight children William, George, Albert, Ed, Theodore, Arthur, Galain and Lela. Albert remained at home until he was about 18 years old at which time he went to work in the woods and on farms, helping on the home farm in summer. When 29 years of age he was married, May 17, 1905, to Lydia Raneking (Reiniking), daughter of William Raneking, her father being a farmer in Clark County. Albert Miller and his wife then settled on an eighty-acre tract of wild land in Section 16, Eaton Township, which constitutes his present farm. There was a small clearing, with a small log house on it, in which latter they took up their residence, and he at once began to improve the place. He has now a good seven-room frame house and a basement barn 28 by 40 feet in size. In addition to dairying he is raising some hogs. About forty acres of his farm are now cleared, and he is still continuing the work. Besides his farm interests he has stock in the West Eaton Cheese Factory. Mr. Miller and wife are the parents of three children-Martha, Arno and Erna, all residing at home. The family are members of the German Reformed Church.
