CELEBRATES 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwarze celebrated their Sixtieth Wedding anniversary last Saturday, November 11, 1933. Mr. Schwarze is 83 years of age and Mrs. Schwarze is 84 years of age. The celebration was held at the Otto Schwarze home on route 4, which is the old homestead of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwarze.

The happy couple were married November 11, 1873 in the Town of Warner. Both Mr. and Mrs. Schwarze were born in Germany. Mr. Schwarze came to Clark County in 1870 while Mrs. arrived here in 1871. At this time there was little else but wilderness to be seen here and out of the wilderness they made one of Clark County's best farms.

Rev. E. Vornholdt gave a splendid talk after the anniversary dinner. Six of the children were present, Mrs. Fred Buker, Mrs. Fred Brick, George, Albert, Adolph and Otto all of Greenwood. One daughter, Mrs. Sidney Greene of Pueblo, Colorado and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. H. R. Schwarze of Mather, Wis., were unable to attend. There were also 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren present.

In sixty years, death visited them but once. A son, Dr. Herman R. Schwarze was killed in an auto accident in October, 1932.

Others attending the anniversary were Mr. and Mrs. C. Mason and son, Mrs. Faye Richmond and Rev. and Mrs. E. Vornholdt and grandson of Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Schwarze are among Greenwood's best known and highly respected citizens having moved here from their farm thirteen years ago.

The anniversary last Saturday was one that will long linger in the memories of all present.

The other many friends join the Gleaner in extending best wishes for many more years of happy wedded life.
