----Frager, Elma Ardell (Marriage - 5 APR 1899)

On the evening of Wednesday, Apr. 5, 1899, at the residence of R. F. Kerr on the North Side (Neillsville, Clark County), occurred the marriage of Leo V. Edgbert and Miss Elma Ardell Frager.

At 7 o'clock the happy couple entered the parlor to the stains of Mendelsohn's beautiful wedding march, Miss Grace Harriman presiding at the piano, and Rev. A. B. Scovill performed the ceremony according to the beautiful and impressive "Ring Service" of the M.E. Church.

The bride was dressed in white and carried a beautiful bouquet of bride's roses. The groom wore the conventional suit of black, relived by a boutonniere of carnations.

The parlors, which were decked with foliage, were well filled with the relatives of the groom and friends of the bride a merry and happy group.

During the ceremony the contracting parties stood beneath two floral letters E. and F and as they were pronounce man and wife, the letter F. dropped, leaving the letter E - a symbol that both would henceforth bear one name.

After congratulations a sumptuous supper was partaken of.

This morning at six o'clock the couple left, amid showers of rice for their new home in Sioska, Wis., followed by the best wishes of all for a happy and prosperous life.

The bride's former home was at Hicksville, Ohio., where she was highly esteemed and will be greatly missed in church and society circles.

The groom is well known to Neillsville, Clark County people, having passed his boyhood and manhood thus far among us. Graduating with the class of '92, he followed teaching as a profession until the late unpleasantness with Spain when, with Co. A. he left for Puerto Rico and spent ten months in the hospital service there.

Returning since the holidays he has again resumed teaching, taking this time a school of one.
