Eilert, Lizzie (Marriage - 18 DEC 1899)

The O'Neill parlors was the scene of a pretty wedding ceremony Monday afternoon which united in holy matrimony Ren L. Meader of Eau Claire and Miss Lizzie Eilert of this city (Neillsville, Clark County), Rev. T. Grafton Owen officiating. At 2:30 the bride and groom entered the parlor to the dreamy strains of Mendelsohn's wedding march, played by Mr. Kurt Listemann, and took their places beneath an arch of pink and white carnations, where the words were spoken that joined them as man and wife. After the ceremony and congratulations the company repaired to the dining room where a banquet of three courses had been spread to which all did ample justice. The rest of the time until the train left was occupied with social converse. The bride wore a traveling dress of blue poplin and carried a bouquet of red roses. The parlor decorations were of pin and white carnations and that of the banquet in white ribbons and bouquets. The happing pair took the 4:55 train for their new home in Eau Claire amid a shower of rice, flowers, old shoes, etc.

The groom is well known to Neillsville people, having been in business here a number of years prior to his going to Eau Claire, and his upright and straight forward methods both in business and social life have won for him the esteem of all. The bride is one of Neillsville's fairest daughters and who counts her friends by the score. She has grown to womanhood in Neillsville and deserves the best of this life's good things. She will be a valuable addition to Eau Claire society and Neillsville's loss is our sister city's gain. May the path of Mr. and Mrs. Meader along life's journey be strewn with roses, and prosperity and happiness attend them is the wish of all, in which the Rep. And Press heartily joins.
