The Family of Cyrus D. & Lucy A. (Kidney) French

In 1905, when Cyrus D. French was sixty-nine years old, he and his fifty-nine year old wife, Lucy A. were in the process of buying a farm of their own in Sherman Township, Clark Co., WI.  He and his father had both been born in the Empire state and his mother haled from Vermont.  Lucy too was born in New York.  Her parents were Irish immigrants.  Cyrus & Lucy had two grown sons residing with them, Roy B. who was twenty-two and John who was a year younger.  Both of them were farm laborers and were Wisconsin born.  There was also a single boarder named Renne Marvins living with the family and was a common laborer.

Cyrus was born May 14, 1836 in Ellicattville, Cattaraugus, NY and died Oct. 15, 1917 and was buried in Spencer, Marathon Co., WI
He was the son of John & Cynthia French and he married Lucy Ann Kidney March 3, 1865 in Leon, Monroe, Wisconsin. Cyrus Dewitt French, Jr. was born Oct. 30, 1869 and died Oct. 10, 1903. Roy Beldon French was born Mar. 7, 1883 in Sherman Township, Clark Co., WI and died Mar. 17, 1949 and was buried in Eau Clarie, Eau Claire Co., WI. Charles C. French was born May 14, 1873 and died Nov. 15, 1917.  Effiel French was born Aug. 1871 and died Sept. 9, 1906. John Limely French was born Dec. 13, 1877 in Sherman Township, Clark Co., Wisconsin and died Feb. 16, 1947.
