Archie & Hazel (Shoop) Ladd
Archie Ladd married Hazel Shoop Aug. 4, 1907. The 1905 state census shows that they were living two doors apart. A June 30, 1907 school census for Sherwood shows Hazel, 17 and Gladness 13 in the same one room schoolhouse. Hazel’s obit says they moved to La Centre in 1907, so they must have moved to LaCentre, Washington shortly after their marriage. I have no idea what took them to Washington. They lived in La Centre for three years, moved to Centralia and that’s where they were when Hazel died. Archie died in a nursing home in a nearby town, but his home was still in Centralia. He was 82.
