William F. & Mabel (O'Connell) Neuenfeldt
William F. Neuenfeldt, was born in Marshfield Sept. 3, 1892, and was married to the former Mabel O'Connell there in 1912. She was the the daughter of John and Mary (Hiller) O'Connell, born September 7, 1893.
They were residents of Greenwood for 44 years and owned and operated the Greenwood Gleaner until 1945, when he was succeeded by his son, Albert, as publisher. Mr. Neuenfeldt previously had owned and edited the Loyal Tribune at Loyal, where he lived after his marriage, until coming to Greenwood.
The Neuenfeldts were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
William and his wife had four sons, Charles, Spencer James, St. Paul, Minn. Albert and Gerald, both of Greenwood, Clark Co., Wisconsin. They also had an infant daughter who died when just ten days old in 1927.
Albert died February 21, 1961 and was buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Greenwood. Five years later, his beloved Mabel was laid by his side. She died April 6, 1966.
