Schoen, Edward & Grace
Edward Schoen was born in 1923 to Henry and Minnie (Utecht) Schoen. The parents lived on the farm in section 66 of Levis Township (Clark Co., Wis.) near the East Fork of the Black River. Ed was the youngest of nine children. He farmed at home with his father until 1948 when he purchased the Robert French farm.
In 1951 he married Grace Winter of the Columbia area. They are the parents of six children: Linda (Mrs. Gary Miller), Edward Jr. of Hatfield, Patricia (Mrs. Joe Bertz) of Mondovi, Wisconsin, Connie, Larry, and Kevin at home. Ed has served on the town board for 20 years; the last 8 years as town chairman, being elected to another term April 7, 1981.
