Sarah A. Stafford was born May 14, 1826 in Columbiana Co., Ohio.  She was the daughter of Andrew and Margaret Meek.  Her father was a native of Pennsylvania and her mother, like Sarah, was born in Ohio.  She was married, January 4, 1848 in Spring Valley, Rock Co., WI, to John Franklin Stafford.  He was the son of John and Pamelia "Sally" (Andrews) Stafford.  He was born August 5, 1827, in Greene, Androscoggin, Maine and died February 20, 1877 in Clayton, Polk Co., Wisconsin (Balsaw Lake).

 

Sarah died October 13, 1885 and is buried in the Greenwood City Cemetery, Eaton township, Clark County, Wisconsin.  Her brother George was a Civil War Veteran who was a mail contractor and stageman from Withee to Greenwood.
