JOSEPH BARBER


Mr. J. L. Barber died at his home in Greenwood, Clark County, Saturday, Sept. 10, 1904, at the age of 76 years, 11 months. He was born in Essex County, N.J., Oct. 10th, 1827 and was married to Miss Francis Demouth in the year 1847. He moved from New Jersey to Chemung County, N.Y., where he worked in a boatyard for a number of years. In 1854 he came to Wisconsin and bought a farm in Calumet County where he lived until twenty years ago last April, when he moved to Christie, Clark County, buying another farm here. Two years ago this fall he moved to Greenwood, where he remained until his death. Mrs. Barber died three years ago. They are survived by seven children a a wife whom he married a few months ago. The funeral was held in the Christie church, the Masons taking charge of the funeral. Interment took place at the Christie Cemetery Sept. 13.
