OBITUARY OF MR. AND MRS. A. C. BARR


Mrs. Ethel Carleton BARR was born in Neillsville on September 10, 1882, and resided in Clark County until the time of her death.


Anthony C. BARR was born in Ataca, Mich., Aug. 21, 1871. He came to Longwood with his parents when he was nine years old. At the age of 16 he took up the blacksmith trade and remained at Longwood until 1910 when he and his family moved to Greenwood and where he successfully operated a blacksmith shop since.


Mr. and Mrs. BARR were united in marriage July 5, 1900. Five children were born to them: (Elsie) Mrs. R. S. NYELAND, Williamsport, Penn., (Hazel) Mrs. Joseph BRAUNEIS, Greenwood Charles, Neillsville (Viola) Mrs. Raymond SHAW, Neillsville and Jessie, R. N., Cleveland, Ohio.


They are also survived by the following grandchildren: Jeanette Elsie BRAUNEIS, Charles Gordon BRAUNEIS, Helen Marie BRAUNEIS, Shirley Rae SHAW, Beverly Jean SHAW, Sandra Joy BARR and Carrol Jean BARR.


Mrs. BARR is survived by two brothers, George of Silverton, Ore., and Alva of Glacer Park, Mont., and one sister, Mrs. A. H. MCCARTY of Longwood.


Both Mr. and Mrs. BARR were members of the Royal Neighbors of America, Eastern Star and Beavers and Mr. BARR was a member of the local order of Masons.


Funeral services were held from the local M. E. Church, Sunday afternoon, with Rev. C. R. GAYLORD officiating. Members of the Eastern Star were in charge. Mrs. L. COX, Mrs. C. PERKINS, Mrs. Earl SLONIKER and Mrs. Albert DAHL, members of the Royal Neighbors, had charge of the floral offerings.


Twelve Masonic brethren acted as pallbearers: Lee JOLIVETTE, Carl STABNOW, M. E. KENYON, Elmer JOHNSON, C. C. HOEHNE, Dr. R. E. MCINTYRE, H. R. BAIRD, A. E. PRELLER, A. C. BUKER, L. W. STAFFORD, Dr. A. J. CURRIE, and Chas. VARNEY.


The bodies were laid to rest in the Greenwood cemetery.


The following from away were here to attend the joint funeral services: Mrs. C. M. BRADFORD, Free CARLETON, Miss Catherine CARLETON, Jim and Will OWEN of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. MCCARTY, Mr. and Mrs. Howard FARWELL, Miss Elizabeth MCCARTY and Justin MCCARTY of Longwood, Miss Charlotte MCCARTY and Lawrence TOMLEY of Whitehall, Mr. and Mrs. James NELSON of Marshfield, Mrs. Morris ANDERSON and Mrs. Otto ANDERSON of Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. John F. JOHNSON and sons Charles and Lawrence of Augusta, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. NYELAND of Williamsport, Penn., Mr. and Mrs. Chas. BARR and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond SHAW of Neillsville, Miss Jessie BARR R. N. of Cleveland, Ohio.
