Chauncy James Bigelow
, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Bigelow was born July 21, 1867 at Union, Ill. And passed away at his home at Tioga May 4, 1931. His illness was of a short duration, being stricken with paralysis Sunday evening May 3rd.


At the age of seven, his parents moved to Kensington, Kan., where he lived for eight years. During their stay in Kansas, the mother passed away, also a brother, Truman Edward. In 1882 the family returned to Union, Ill., where he grew to manhood.


On Dec. 23, 1894 he was married to Lucy Mead, who passed away Feb. 1907. On Nov. 5, 1907, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Annaretta Slover, who passed away Oct. 14, 1929. For many years he has been a resident of Tioga.


He was a kind and loving husband and father and his cheerful disposition endeared him to a host of friends.


He leaves to mourn his loss, one son Ralph and wife at home and two daughters, Mrs. Viola Dunn of Greenwood and Mrs. Vera Dean of Hixton, and six grandchildren, also one brother John of DeSmit, S.D., and three sisters, Mrs. Hesper Wilcox of Greenwood, Mrs. Elcy Class, Brooking, S.D., and Mrs. Pearl Hill of Chili, Wis., also nineteen nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon, May 7th, Rev. D.S. Householder officiating and he will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
