MRS. EDWARD BRAUN (1890 - 1955)

 
Greenwood - Mrs. Edward Braun, 64, died of a heart attack at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1955 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was caring for her brother, Herman Damerow, a patient there.


Mrs. Braun, formerly Marie Louise Damerow, was born March 4, 1890, in Germany. At the age of 10 years she came to the United States with her brother, Max Damerow, and lived with an aunt at Columbus for two years. Her parents came to the United States in 1902 and located in Braun Settlement, Clark County.


She was married to Edward Braun on June 10, 1914, at the Braun Settlement Reformed Church, and the couple lived on a farm in Braun Settlement until two years ago, when they retired and came to this city.


Mrs. Braun was a member of the Braun Settlement Reformed Church.


She is survived by her husband, two sons, Clayton Braun, Greenwood, and Dr. Edward Braun Jr., Milwaukee a daughter, Mrs. A. (Iris) Philipps, Bakersfield, Calif. a foster-daughter, Mrs. Syle (Bernice) Stanley, Milwaukee three brothers, Herman Damerow, Greenwood, Paul Damerow, Longwood, and William Damerow, San Fancisco, Calif. a sister Mrs. George (Lychen) Fick, Milwaukee and nine grandchildren.


A daughter, Beatrice, Three sisters and two brother preceded her in death.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, with the Rev. Charles Kock Officiating. Burial will take place in the Braun Settlement cemetery near here.


The body will lie in state at Hill Funeral Home from Thursday until Friday, and then will be taken to the Braun residence to lie in state until 11:30.
