Cammers, Nicholas (1850 - 1934)

Nicholas was a long time employee of Pfisher and Fogel, a tannery in Milwaukee, WI. Nicholas and Amelia Fischer had 12 children, 3 twins and 2 triplets. Nine children survived.

NICK CAMMERS, 80, DIES HERE TODAY

Deceased Formerly Operated Farm in Town of Beaver, Clark County

Nick Cammers, 80, former resident of Marshfield, died this morning in St. Joseph's hospital to which he had been removed a week ago for treatment of a complication of ailments.

For the past four years deceased lived with his son, William Cammers on a farm in the town of Green Grove, Clark county, though prior to that time he made his home for 16 years on the John Wettestead place on North Central avenue. Mr. Cammers was born in Luxemburg, Nov. 3, 1850 and came to the United states with his parents when he was 3 years of age. The family settled in New York state but a few years later moved to Waukesha county, Wisconsin and settled on a farm in Brookfield township.

From Brookfield Cammers went to Manitowoc county where he purchased a farm on which he lived for 30 years. It was in this county that his marriage to Amelia Fischer was solemnized on May 24, 1875.

From Manitowoc county the Cammers family moved onto a farm in the town of Beaver, Clark county. They resided there until 1911 when they moved to Marshfield.

Mrs. Cammers preceded her husband in death 10 years ago. Of the 16 children born to the couple, 10 survive (at the time of writing) They are: William Cammers, town of Green Grove Nick Cammers, Jr., Polson, Montana Herbert Cammers, Town of Beaver Fred
