RUTH KLINE OF LOYAL SUCCUMBS

Mrs. Ruth Kline, 76 of 109 Gwinn, St., Loyal, Clark County, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 10, 1975, at the Marshfield Clinic.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Eugene Carlson, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jesse Raab, Ken Kline Jr. George Zuehlke Jr., Wilbur Kehrberg, Paul Brandt, and Michael Caromody.

Mrs. Ruth Zepplin was organist with Miss Connie Smith singing In the Garden and In the Sweet By and By .

The Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kline was a passenger in an automobile involved in a collision on Highway 13 and McMillan St., Marshfield, short before her death. According to Marathon County Coroner Marvin Nelles, death was attributed to heart failure.

The former Ruth Baker was born Aug. 29, 1899, in Stanley, where she received her early education. She also took a teacher training course at Stanley High School. She began her teaching career at Blackberry School in western Clark County. She also taught at a number of toher rural schools before her marriage in 1921 to Martin Klahn.

The couple lived in Illinois and later operated a chicken farm in Taylor County. Her husband died in 1947 after which she did restaurant work at Abbotsford.

She returned to teaching at rural schools in 1948 on a permit, and also began her freshman studies in evening and summer classes at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1963.

After the consolidation of rural schools in 1958 she taught in the Loyal Elementary School until her retirement. She then did substitute teaching for several years.

Her second marriage was to Frank Kline on Aug. 14, 1951 at Manawa. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1968.

Mrs. Kline was a member of the United Methodist Church of Loyal, and was very active in the Bible study groups and the United Methodist Women. She was also an active member of Hope Camp 819 of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Order of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge of Neillsville, the Loyal American Legion Auxiliary, Birthday Club, and a number of other social clubs.

She is survived by two brothers, Floyd Baker, Arizona, and Lester Baker, Orlando, Fla., and a stepson, Lawrence Kline.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
