MRS. LYDIA DILL--(1888-1974)


GREENWOOD--Services for Mrs. Lydia Martha Dill, 86, of Greenwood, Clark County, were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at Zion United Church of Christ. Mrs. Dill died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 1974 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where she was taken early that same morning following a stroke.


Officiating was the Rev. David Logue, pastor, and burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Pallbearers, all grandsons, were William and Michael Mitte, Nick Matkovich, and Gary, Jack and Tom Abel.


Accompanying the vocalist, Gary Schultz, was Mrs. Gary Schultz at the organ.


The former Lydia Martha Kuester was born June 10, 1888, northwest of Greenwood and lived most of her life here. Her marriage on Sept. 16, 1911, at the West Side Reformed Church at Greenwood was to Julius Dill.


She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and the Wallis-Hinker American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother.


Survivors include four sons, Gottlieb, Milwaukee, Gilbert, Grafton, Henry, Chicago, and Harvey, at home four daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Alberta) Thomas, Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Adolph (Anita) Abel, Greenwood, Mrs. Louis (Beulah) Matkovich, Willard, and Mrs. Harold (Julia) Mitte, Neillsville a brother, Norbert Kuester, Greenwood 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death were two sons, Leo and Norbert two brothers, Henry and William, and a sister, Mrs. Albert (Ella) Fravert.
