Arnold Arnie Haas, age 71, of 1402 South 17th Street, Sheboygan, died Friday evening, September 10, 1999, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.

He was born July 19, 1928, in Thorp, a son of the late Robert and Irene (Baures) Haas. He attended schools in Thorp, after which he enlisted in the Army and served in Japan following World War II.

In 1951 he was united in marriage to Marion Foster at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thorp. They had farmed in Thorp, for a time before moving to Sheboygan. He was employed at Lake to Lake Dairy and retired from the Vollrath Co. after 38 years.
He enjoyed and took great care of his yard and garden. He also enjoyed woodworking and camping and formerly played on the Vollrath baseball team. Arnold was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church the Catholic Order of the Foresters, Catholic War Veterans and the Quarter Century Club at Vollrath.

He is survived by his wife, Marion one son Robert (Beth) of Sheboygan four daughters: Doreen (Doug) Lindsay, Karen Haas, Cindy (Jim) Herr and Pamela Haas, all of Sheboygan seven grandchildren: Tracy, Stacey, Sara, Jason, Shaw, Nathan and Matthew two great-grandchildren: Allison and Brianna three brothers: Melvin (Evelyn) Haas and Richard (Mary) Haas both of Thorp, and Jerry (Rita) Haas of Greenwood four sisters: Gin Mullison of Denver, Colo., Marie Haas of California, Coletta Hurth of Cadott and Therese Jenness of Thorp nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arnold was preceded in death by two sisters: Bernadine, and Phyllis Ann, and four brothers: Wilfred, Wayne, Jerome and one infant baby.

Mass of Christian Burial for Arnold was celebrated at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 1999 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Sheboygan, with Rev. Brian Syszko, pastor, as celebrant. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends called at the church Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Ramm-Ziegler-Novak-Rettke Funeral Home, South Side Chapel in Sheboygan served the family.
