Paul Louis Hodowanic, 80, Cornell, WI, died Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at Cornell Area Care Center.


Paul was born on the family farm in the Town of Colburn, Chippewa County. He was the son of Frank and Mary (Bobish) Hodowanic. He grew up in the area and then went to Chicago, IL where he worked. He served in the US Army during World War II. After his discharge he returned to Chicago where he worked for a time and then returned to Huron and took over the family farm. He married Pearl Kneifl on October 3, 1964 at St. John's Orthodox Church, Huron. They lived on the farm until moving to Washburn, WI in June, 1979. In October of 1992 they moved to Cornell and have lived there since.


Surviving are his wife Pearl of Cornell, WI one stepdaughter Judi, Mrs. Mike Buller of Ft. Lauderdale, FL one sister Mrs. Grace McLeod of Waupun, WI step grandchildren: Andrea, Michael Buller and friends Ernie Goldean Gehring and family Frank and Dorothy Zwiefelhofer and family Jim and Darlene Kneifl and family Jacquie and John Kneifl. Paul is preceded in death by his parents 4 brothers: Frank, George, Harry, Robert 7 sisters: Anne Jane Telschow, Kathryn Leja Folczyk, Evelyn Mahalko, Elizabeth Hagen, Eilene Hurt, Marie Doege, Mary in infancy.


Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 1999 at St. John's Orothodox Thurch, Huron. Visitation was from 4:00 till 9:00 p.m. Friday at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley. Panahida services was 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
