MRS. S. M. JOHNSON PASSES AWAY


Mrs. Severin Johnson, nee Hannah Julie Halvorsen, was born near Aste, Norway, the 16th of June 1858, of parent Hans Halvorsen Rund and his wife Gurine Hansen.


She was baptized and confirmed in the Fet Lutheran Church and remained a steadfast member of her church until her death.


After many years spent in Norway she came to America in 1888 and was married in Milwaukee Dec. 30, 1888 to Severin Johnson. This union was blessed with five children, namely Olga, Mrs. Chas. Hallowell, Harold and Sigward Johnson, Anna, Mrs. P. Catlin, all of Loyal and Julia, Mrs. Lloyd Hebert of Greenwood.


In 1894 they came to Clark County where they settled on a farm in the town of Unity and lived there until they moved to Greenwood, Clark County thirteen years ago.


She was a woman of many fine qualities and a firm believer in the Christian faith. Her aim in life was to spread good cheer and happiness along her path. She will be sadly missed by her many relatives and friends.


She passed away June 4, 1932, after many months of constant suffering, having reached the age of 74 years.


Funeral services were held from the home and from the United Lutheran Church in Greenwood, Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 1932. Rev. M. K. Aaberg officiated.


Survivng her are her husband, five children, twenty six grandchildren, besides other relatives and a host of friends who mourn her loss.
